Local Youth Councils

The State Youth Council is composed of youth representatives from local youth councils.

Each local youth council is unique and provides opportunities for youth to get involved in their own communities, build leadership skills, and have fun!

    • Encourage state and local councils to take active parts in governmental and civic affairs
    • Promote and participate in leadership and citizenship programs, and cooperate with other youth-oriented groups
    • Receive on behalf of the Department of Administration and recommend expenditure of gifts and grants from public and private donors
    • Establish procedures for the election of its youth representatives by the State Youth Council.
