Re: Lowering of North Carolina flags beginning immediately on April 27 in honor of Sgt. Meggan Lee Callahan

Gov. Roy Cooper today ordered all North Carolina flags at state facilities to be lowered immediately to half-staff in tribute to Sgt. Meggan Lee Callahan, who was killed Wednesday while at work at Bertie Correctional Institution.

Flags should be returned to full staff at sunset on Friday. Callahan had served with the N.C. Department of Public Safety since 2012. She lived in Edenton.
