Special Hours of Operation in Response to COVID-19

Motor Fleet is operating with a reduced staff, but remains available by phone and email Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.  The gate that connects the Motor Fleet Management (MFM) parking lot to Mail Service Center is closed.  However, gas pumps are available 24/7 via Blue Ridge Rd. 

Additionally, as an added precaution, MFM recommends all drivers to take the following actions:

  • Clean and disinfect all "high touch areas" within the vehicle with an EPA-registered disinfectant spray or wipe (according to the manufacturer product label) on a daily basis.

High touch areas within a vehicle includes:

  • Keys
  • Steering wheel
  • Gear shift
  • Console
  • Door handles (interior and exterior)
  • Arm rests
  • Seatbelt hardware

Utilization of State Vehicles

Motor Fleet Vehicles may be underutilized due to Executive Order 116 issued in efforts to prevent or slow community spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).  Motor Fleet Management considers the telecommuting and travel ban requirements of EO 116 as blanket justification for the under utilization of vehicles for the first quarter of 2020.
