Sealed bids from licensed contractors will be received by Durham Public Schools, Durham, North Carolina on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 for furnishing of labor, material and equipment for the Tennis Court Lighting for Southern High School at 800 Clayton Road, Durham, NC 27703, Hillside High School at 3727 Fayetteville Street, Durham, NC 27707, Jordan High School at 6806 Garrett Road, Durham, NC 27707, and Riverside High School at 3218 Rose of Sharon Road, Durham, NC 27712. Bids will be received up to 2:00 PM from Single Prime bidders at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Deliver bids to the Durham Public Schools Construction and Capital Planning Office located at 2011 Hamlin Road, Durham, North Carolina 27704.
No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days.
Bid security required is 5% of the bid in cash, certified check, or Bid Bond.
Performance and Payment Bonds for 100% of the contract amount will be required.
Durham Public Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities or irregularities.
Minority Business Participation: Bidders shall note that compliance with County of Durham MBE policies and the North Carolina Statute 143-128.2 (c) are required for this project.
Iran Divestment Act: Bidders shall note that the submission of a bid constitutes the bidder’s certification to the State Treasurer that, as of the date of bid, it is not listed on the Final Divestment List created and maintained by the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer (the “Treasurer’s Office”) pursuant to the Iran Divestment Act of 2015, Chapter 147-Article 6E of the General Statutes of North Carolina (the “Iran Divestment Act”).
Project scope:
Installation of tennis court lighting systems at (4) Durham Public Schools’ high school campuses:
Southern High School, Hillside High School, Jordan High School and Riverside High School.
Demolition and electrical service scopes vary by site. All sites will receive manufacturer’s detailed lighting design, permitting, manufacturing and installation of poles, fixture assemblies, remote ballast/driver assemblies, wire harnesses and the tennis lighting controller. Wiring will be in conduit from the service via lighting controller to the poles’ ballast/driver boxes. 3rd party fieldverification of the lighting performance, system documentation and training of Durham Public School Staff are included.
Pre-Bid Conference: Scheduled for Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 9:00AM at Riverside High School, starting in the bus parking lot between the main building and the baseball field. Inspection of the site at Riverside High school will be immediately after the Pre-Bid Conference. Immediately thereafter, site visits will be conducted to Jordan High School, Hillside High School, and Southern High School.
The project Designer or Designer’s representative will be available to answer questions. It is MANDATORY that prime bidders attend the entire Pre-Bid Conference and visit all the sites prior to bidding.
Statement of Qualifications: Each proposal shall be accompanied by a statement of qualifications that demonstrates experience in at least five (5) projects of similar scope within the past three (3) years with references.
