ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS CITY OF LAURINBURG PROJECT NO. RFB-2020-05

STREET RESURFACING PROJECT

Pursuant to the General Statues of North Carolina, Section 143-128 et. seq, sealed bids are invited and will be received by the City of Laurinburg in the office of the General Services Director, 503 Hall Street, Laurinburg, NC 28352 until 2:00 p.m. EST Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at which time and place the sealed bids will be officially opened for the construction of and consisting of furnishing and installing the following:

A. Resurfacing of approximately 8,033 linear feet of city streets consisting of approximately 21,831 square yards of 1” Bituminous Concrete Surface Paving (FS 9.5A).

B. Asphalt used for leveling/widening (approximately 50 tons).

C. Twenty-one (21) man-hole adjustments.

Bid proposals received after the time for opening will not be accepted and will be returned unopened. Copies of the Request for Bids package may be obtained from the City of Laurinburg by contacting Harold W. Haywood at 910-276-2364 or hhaywood@laurinburg.org.

No bid proposal will be considered or accepted unless at the time of its filing, the same shall be accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier’s check, or certified check on a bank or trust company insured by the FDIC and authorized to do business in North Carolina in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the proposal. In the alternative, a five percent (5%) bid bond issued by a corporate surety licensed by the State of North Carolina may be filed with the proposal.

Bidders must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the General Statutes of North Carolina and must comply with nondiscrimination provisions.
