Re: Lowering of United States and North Carolina flags in tribute to former UNC Chancellor Paul Hardin

Governor Roy Cooper today ordered all United States and North Carolina flags at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, July 8 in tribute to former UNC Chancellor Paul Hardin. Hardin died July 1 at age 86.

A memorial service will be held at University United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill on Saturday, July 8 at 3 p.m. Hardin served as chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1988 to 1995.
