This year, 17 North Carolina high school girls will participate in the Lady Cardinal Mentorship Program, a summer enrichment opportunity nurturing student interest in state government science, technology, engineering and mathematic career fields.

In commemoration of Old Glory, Governor Roy Cooper declared June 14, 2023, as Flag Day. This national day of observance recognizes the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, and pays homage to this symbol of democracy and freedom that serves as a beacon for all Americans.

In tribute to the sacrifices of our armed services personnel, Governor Roy Cooper has ordered all United States and North Carolina flags at state facilities be flown at half-staff from sunrise until 12 noon on Monday, May 29 in honor of Memorial Day. 

Today, 85 students, representing 28 North Carolina counties, will embark on a 10-week educational internship experience at North Carolina state government agencies. This year, the program features 80 projects from clean energy to instructional design.

Governor Roy Cooper ordered all U.S. and North Carolina flags at state facilities to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Monday, May 15 in honor of National Peace Officers Memorial Day.
