Fayetteville – Cumberland Youth Council is on the Move

We proud to announce that, Jordan Clayborn (Fayetteville-Cumberland Youth Council Member), has been selected to serve on the Youth, Education, and Families, National League of Cities Council for the 2017-2018 year. The National League of Cities Council on Youth, Education, and Families (YEF Council) guides and oversees the YEF Institute's work. The membership of this Council, unlike any other NLC committee or council, is composed of not only local elected officials but also youth members and representatives from major national organizations concerned about children and families. The National League of Cities is dedicated to helping city leaders build better communities. National League of Cities serves as a resource to and an advocate for the more than 19,000 cities, villages and towns it represents.

Jordan underwent a vigorous selection process, including the initial application, the submission of a resume, and an interview. It is truly an honor to be selected as a youth member, seeing as the applicant pool was so large. As a member of the YEF council, Jordan will assist in the planning of the annual National League of Cities conferences held in Washington, DC and Charlotte, NC in 2017. He will gain valuable experience as he embarks upon this yearlong journey, and we wish him the best of luck!
