PURPLE RIBBON OF EXCELLENCE AWARD ANNOUNCEMENT

Deadline Extended to July 1, 2016.

The Training and Education Committee of the North Carolina Domestic Violence Commission is proud to announce the inaugural Purple Ribbon of Excellence Award. The Purple Ribbon of Excellence recognizes programs exhibiting excellence in community education, outreach, and prevention related to domestic and sexual violence. The purpose of the award is twofold: 1) To convey appreciation and recognition upon extraordinary education and prevention programs; 2) To further the domestic and sexual violence movements by showcasing and promoting effective community education, outreach, and prevention initiatives.

All domestic and/or sexual violence organizations in the state of North Carolina with community education, outreach, and/or prevention programs are invited to compete for the award. Candidates will compete by demonstrating the impact of their community education, outreach, and/or prevention programs on domestic and/or sexual violence. Applicants may choose how best to demonstrate impact, whether through qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods, or other means. Applicants may demonstrate how programs are making a difference in schools, workplaces, communities, or other systems. Domestic and/or sexual violence organizations may nominate their own programs for consideration. Community partner nominations of outstanding partner programs are also welcome.

Applications for the Purple Ribbon of Excellence are available via the North Carolina Council for Women website: www.councilforwomen.nc.gov.
