Lowering U.S. and NC Flags to Half-Staff in Honor of Former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe Until sunset July 10, 2022

Governor Roy Cooper ordered all U.S. and North Carolina flags at state facilities to remain lowered to half-staff through sunset July 10, 2022 in memory of Shinzo Abe, the former prime minister of Japan, who was assassinated while giving a speech on Friday. He was the longest serving prime minister in Japan.

Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions are also encouraged to fly flags at half-staff for the duration of time indicated.
