Home School Information

We're Updating Our Database... and need YOUR help!

DNPE is working to update the non-public schools database as required by the NC Legislature (and needed to determine funding for non-public education resources such as drivers education for homeschool students). To comply with this law (Session Law 2021-180, Senate Bill 105), DNPE representatives will contact home school chief administrators to determine accurate numbers of open home schools, enrollment numbers, and their compliance status (see Article 39: 115C-549; 115C-557; 115C-564). Home school chief administrators should expect to receive an email, telephone call, and/or a letter instructing them to inform DNPE of their operational status and provide the relevant information. If you receive a telephone call, the DNPE representative will provide her name, the home school name, and the home school ID# that she is calling about. Thank you for your help.

Important Information!*New Notice of Intents to operate a home school will begin accepting new Notice of Intents July 6, 2022.
